Whether you are starting from scratch or returning to dancing after time away, the classes are designed to be clear, relaxed, and easy to follow. Each session builds step by step, giving you time to understand the dances properly while enjoying the process.

Meet Carole
Experienced, supportive, and passionate about dance
Carole Hellewell is a Ballroom and Latin dance teacher based in Hampshire, with a lifelong background in both social and competitive dancing. Trained from an early age by Peggy Spencer and Len Goodman, she turned professional at 16 and has taught many hundreds of students in social dancing, examinations, and competition work.
She teaches adult Ballroom and Latin classes in Fleet, as well as private lessons and wedding dance tuition.
Her teaching combines experience, warmth, and clarity, helping dancers of all levels feel comfortable while making steady progress.

Perfect if you are new to Ballroom and Latin or would like to build confidence from the ground up.

For dancers with some experience who want to learn more complicated figures and routines.

A few common questions
Everything you need to know to get started
Do I need a partner?
Not at all. Some students attend with a partner, while others come with a friend or on their own. We have class helpers who can partner when needed, and you’ll also spend time practising steps individually to build confidence and technique.
What should I wear?
Just wear something comfortable. Please avoid wearing shoes with a grippy sole like trainers, as many dances require both partners to be able to slip the foot or pivot. Shoes with a smooth sole are ideal. Dance shoes with suede soles are available and are recommended if you dance regularly.
Will I be out of my depth?
No! Classes are grouped by level, and the atmosphere is friendly and supportive. You are encouraged to learn at your own pace and you will receive one to one help during class from either the teacher or class helper if required.
What dance are you learning now?
There is no fixed course schedule as the dance we are learning is guided by the class. If you are joining us for the first time, you are welcome to start at any point. Our class helpers are on hand to support newcomers and help you pick up the steps.
Wednesday practice evenings
More floor time twice a month
Join our Wednesday practice evenings at All Saints Junior School in Fleet, run by Jude & Katie for dancers who want extra time to practise Ballroom and Latin.
Sessions run twice per month from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm and are open to dancers who would like a relaxed, friendly evening on the floor.
